Duvvada Jagannatham Movie Review by Critic Brain

Copy of several movie scenes and story lines - pathetic editing packed with boring narration makes DJ a Disastrous Junk

Sroty: Duvvada Jagannadha Sastry (Allu Arjun) born and brought up in a Brahmin family, who lives Vijayawada Agrahaaram. An intolerant young Shastri starts with punishing a youth in Vijayawada for teasing his sisters and later involves in killing some goons in protection of police constable (Murali Sharma) whom he will join to work against social elements. DJ is influenced by his grandfather's philosophy that says 'it is not necessary to reveal who we are as long as what we do is for a good cause'.

The antagonist to DJ’s protagonist is Royyala Naidu (Rao Ramesh) a powerful businessman who is behind a popular scam by his Benami company 'Agro Diamond'. An incident drives DJ to reach to the Benami owner of Agri Diamond but later finds he is just a benami, hence searches for the real owners. Rest of the story is how he will reach out to eliminate Royyala Naidu.

Critic Brain Analysis:
The traditional establishment of the lead character appears routine and gives a sense of Mahesh Babu's Atadu - but this time for a good cause! A man in Brahmin family (Like Arjun's Gentle Man) becomes an undercover hero appearing like a soft and innocent man so that the real heroic scenes are established. Female lead Pooja Hegde, a fashion designer meets Shastri at a wedding event and teases him like several movies we've seen in the past, and leaves him alone with an insult while going back. Here is the main twist; she realizes that she loves DJ after she meets a Joker like character in Abu Dabi - I did not predict this, promise!

Suddenly the audience start shouting Super Star's Rajini Kanth's name when the goons drag DJ out of his house but his companions are quite on the warning of DJ. I'm sure you would not be thinking of BASHA movie, ain't you? Finally, the Climax scene comes where DJ seeks revenge against the Villian using his son, who is a joker. Comedy scenes between Allu Arjun and Subbaraju morphs into an irritation and climax scenes are absolutely ridiculous. It seems that the Director thought audience are idiots or will tolerate pathetic comedy done by stars. The comedy tried in the film will not let you laugh, but the intended to be serious scenes are really hilarious! Time for the directors to come out of the frame work of managing stars and pleasing their fans and work on some serious stories and execution.

Performances: If something is an asset to the movie, its the power packed action of Allu Arjun. The close-up shots on him in few emotional scenes are impressive and remarkable!  looked good as DJ. Pooja Hedge had done some good dances this time, and the scope of her performance is limited. What can anyone tell about Rao Ramesh? He is always good and did 100% justice to his character. Royyala Naidu is shown with similar vibes as his father’s character in Muthyala Muggu.

Having said that, this film is a sure shot above average for the B,C center audience while the A-centers and overseas markets may not do well after the long weekend. You may consider watching this once in the weekend if you are not planning for Bahubali 2 again!
