Critic Brain Marks: 4/5
Not all actors can become stars, not all stars can become actors. Nani is one such rare piece who balance both right from the beggining of his career. And when the story is added with competing perormances of other lead roles, that becomes one "Ninnu Kori".
Umashankar (Nani) is a PHD student in Vizag who falls in love with Pallavi (Nivetha Thomas). Certain interests of Pallavi will lead to a dance master - student relationship between Uma and herself later falling in love with each other.
Due to circumstances, Uma and Pallavi decides to run away and get married but will resist from doing so due to Pallavi's father (Murali Sharma), who talks about how the parents grow their children and what it means to marry a worthless person. Pallavi's father, unaware of his daughters love suddenly fixes Pallavi’s wedding with Arun(Aadi). Left with no choice, both Uma and Pallavi are forced to break up and Pallavi marries Arun.
A heart broken and drug addict Uma reaches USA where Pallavi is also living with Arun. Rest of the story is about what Pallavi does to deal with a Uma, how Arun takes all this and whether Uma try to win his love all over again? If yes, how? If no, Why? Well, watch that wonderful story on silver screen!
Critic Brain Analysys: Natural Star - I don't know who gave this title to this man. I cannot think of any alterlate title for him, for the choice of his stories and getting into the shoe of his character! As always, he makes you feel like the next door man whom you knew since many years. In a fun and lover boy role in the first half and an emotionally driven love failure in the second half. Best part in the film is that Nani did not make this a 'Hero ending' but he ended it with a story! How many stars can do it except this natural star?
Nivetha Thomas was the perfect choice as Pallavi. At times, she has dominated Nani. How dare is she to have a tight closeup on her when she cried? it was a touching performance by Nivetha. After Gentle man, I thought I've seen an actress after a long time. After Ninnu Kori, I literally feel I may not see such an actress even in near future. Casting of the movie should be applauded for choosing Aadi as well. Though there are not many scenes in the film for him that has a scope for performance, the attitude he managed throughout the film is just remarkable.
After Bhale Bhale Magadivoi, Murali Sharma seems to be the best supporting artist especially in uncles role to Nani. He did well in his role and his comedy with comedian Prudhvi and Nani in the second half is hilarious.
On a slightly negative note, screenplay in the second half becomes quite predictable and weak at times.. Audience may expect more drama especially from the pre-climax. However, this film, though a well executed may not win the B,C center collections. It can undoubtedly work well in the overseas and A-Centers.
Technical Aspects :-
Karthick Ghattamaneni 's Camera is an assets to the film. You can observe the camera work creating mood throughout the film. Emotional scenes are an epic work by him!
Background scores by Gopi Sundar is good, while the songs are not upto the mark. However, one song "Adiga Adiga" is very good even in terms of making.
Last but not the least, sailor of the film, Director Shiva Nirvana makes an impressive debut with an impressive story. Screenplay is quite gripping till the pre-climax. The weak screenplay since the pre-climax gave me a sense that he has either compromised or others have interfered in climax as he narrated the whole film with a lot of conviction against the narration in pre-climax. If he had handled the pre-climax and climax a bit more sensibly, the output would have been another epic in telugu industry.
Ninnu Kori is a heartwarming love story packed with emotions, drama and fun. Amature or fantasy seeking audience may not like the climax. If you ignore few weakly narrated scenes in the second half, this film ends up as a very entertaining watch with your entire family. Give it a try, if you want to witness some stars coming together for action.
